Kelleys Life 2021 June – Kelley the teddy bear was first found by Josie Gaither a student at the KI school. KILA supports the community – this year they purchased 13 trash containers for the Village and donated $500 to the VFW for the street flags. The Mayor’s report-thanks to KILA for their donation, village plans to upgrade the public restrooms, and welcomes 11 new EMS and 8 new Fire Dept. responders. New business open – Meg’s Makeshop. A story about Lois Whitacres Giles. The Zion Community Church to hold Vacation Bible School. Articles from the KI Brew Pub (as they transition to an event center) and the Parsonage resale shop. An update from the Chamber as they move to their new location in an Addison St. house. Jenni and Cindra do another Make-A-Wish Swim and Golf Cart Poker run. Jack Wade shares a story about the big storm that hit Texas while he was there. The new Monarch Winery is open. A story about the Island’s Oldest Inhabitant-Jacob Hayes. Articles about a swarm of bees, the Lakeside Daisy, the rare bird seen on KI 10 years ago, and an update from the KI Audubon Club.
